Zack Walker Mystery #2

Much to his family's relief, stay-at-home writer Zack Walker finally gets a job outside of the house. Surely, becoming a journalist will keep his overactive imagination in check . . .

Now in full-time employment, Zack's protective instincts must work over-time to keep his kids safe from dangers real and imagined.

But while writing his feature article, Zack stumbles into the centre of a web of murder and deceit.

What seems like a tragic accidental hit-and-run may actually be a far darker crime. And Zack will find himself in the dark about who the good guys are, what the bad guys want, and what he's started to uncover . . .

The unlikely detective Zack Walker returns in this mystery thriller from the dark and witty mind of bestselling author Linwood Barclay. This is the first time that Linwood's debut series is available in the UK.

Kept the wife hooked for ages and gave me time to go the PS3 undisturbed so worth every penny, we ended up buying all his books

Totally excellent read. A real page-turner, like all Linwood Barclay's books. As a kid I read many James Hadley Chase novels. I could polish one off in an afternoon when I was 15. Linwood has quite a way to go, though, before he reaches Chase's record, which was 90 books.

First off I liked this book, but it did take some getting used to. I bought this after reading some of the latest books from Barclay (such as Fear the Worst, if I had not have read these first I'm not sure I would have persevered. Overall, I am glad I did as the plot and characters do develop well and at a good pace. This along with Bad Move and Lone Wolf are definately worth a read if you like Barclays other books, but dont expect them to grab you as quickly

Barclay writes realy funny mystery stories. I commend all his books. His Characters live and one wants to know what happens to them. I liked the use of a pencil to bring one story to an end.

Carrying on from Bad Move, the first book, this is more of the same. It was an okay read, better than the first. He has written much better though.

An early book by Barclay, and a sequel to "Bad Move", one of the best books I have ever read. Best enjoyed in sequence.
