The sixteenth Inspector Rebus novel from 'Britain's No.1 crime writer' DAILY MIRROR.

A murder has been committed - but as the victim was a rapist, recently released from prison, no one is too concerned about the crime. That is, until Detective Inspector John Rebus and DS Siobhan Clarke uncover evidence that a serial killer is on the loose...

When Rebus also starts looking into the apparent suicide of an MP, he is abruptly warned off the case, not least because the G8 leaders have gathered in Scotland, and Rebus's bosses want him well out of the way. But Rebus has never been one to stick to the rules, and when Siobhan has a very personal reason for hunting down a riot cop, it looks as though both Rebus and Clarke may be up against their own side...

"The best living British crime writer." -- Lee Child"For Rankin's fans all over the world, Rebus is the ideal sleuth." -- The New Yorker "Clive James""There is a reason this guy is a #1 bestseller all over the world. Pick up "The Naming of the Dead, " read the first few pages, and then thank me later." -- Harlan Coben"The best living British crime writer." -- Lee Child"The fifty-something Rebus is surely one of the most rounded, warts-and-all characters in modern crime fiction. . . . Those who want to plunge deep into a world of convincing characters and brilliantly rendered atmospherics can't do much better than this." -- Washington Post "Patrick Anderson" --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

No better author of the genre on the planet, great read. However even Ian is never totally 100% on Police or Army procedure or life and this comment applies for all the Rebus books. That said if you did not know from the inside you would never know as the reader.Born and lived within a few miles of the author so may be biased but also served in the Army and Police Force so imo well qualified to declare him as no1 in his field.

Yet again, I struggled to put this down! There are so many strands to this novel that it maintains the reader's interest right until the last page. My thanks to Ian Rankin for his wonderful novels.

This was fine, so imagine my disappointment when I ordered the next in the series - Exit Music - along with two other books, and the other two books are on my kindle but not Exit Music although you have charged me for all three. Any ideas?
